Which Hand? (March 15, 2016)

www.pinterest.com

Why
Do you look
At me
That way.

In my choosing
To walk
The sinister path
And not
The dexter one.

Which is
Often ignored
By people.

Exploring
The inner realms
Of my fractal soul
And gender
As a transwoman.

Although
People have wondered
If my journey was
An ambidextrous one.

For many times
I have been seen
As blurring
Gender lines.

Not understanding
Why I must choose
Either hand
In conforming
To your orthodoxy
Of gender.

When
At times
I feel
Neither
Left
Nor right handed.

Just me
A soul
Who learning
From both hands.

So right... I think it's strength to be able to use both hands... literary and metaphorically.. great use of the prompt.

Thank you, Bjorn. Wasn't sure, as I was writing, if I had gotten the metaphor down right.

I love the last stanza. And now you've made me think of Dexter, which is one of my favorite shows of all time.

Thank you, Aria. Just one of those stanzas that felt intuitively right, when I wrote it. As for Dexter, I have never watch an episode, not my type of show, which I would watch.

I admire the honesty of your journey~ The ending part really moved me:

Just me
A soul
Who learning
From both hands.

Thanks for sharing~

A very heartfelt piece. The hand metaphors really worked to convey your thoughts. Thanks for joining in with the prompt.

Use whatever dexterity you choose to use. You'll be brilliant in either! Walt.

Just like when a person is ambidextrous, there usually seems to come a time when a person makes a choice....

Really is a great use of the prompt, and I especially like how you bold certain words to really draw attention to them.

Definitely a strength to be able to learn from both hands, either this/or that gender, whatever...it's all you. Thank you for sharing your vantage point!

A soul Who learning
From both hands

It need not be the left or right hand. It has to be an all encompassing holistic kind of thing that naturally will involve both hands. Very true Therisa!
