Changeling (January 1, 2019)

So many labels
Been used
To describe people
Like myself.

Most
Pejorative
Designed to harm.

Attacking one's soul
In a spiteful manner
Where misspoken words
Can be fatal.

In extreme violence
Causing bodily harm
And death.

Else
Suicide
By any means
At hand.

And
We call ourselves
The superior intelligence
On Earth.

– 'much like the keystone is for an arch, holding both sides together'.

2nd stanza: 2 words/3 words/4 words/2 words
3rd stanza: 3 words/3 words/4 words/2 words
4th stanza: 2 words/3 words/2 words
5th stanza: 3 words/3 words/4 words/2 words
