April (April 5, 2017)

All day showers
Puddles everywhere
Rivers flooding
Itching to sow seeds
Lilacs blossoming.

Author's note: Spring doesn't unofficially arrive, until the last snowstorm, in April, despite, what the calendar says, on my bedroom wall. One of the quirks, of living in a northern hemisphere country, like Canada. Then, if we're lucky, Spring lasts about 3 weeks, before the hot and humid weather of summer, overtakes my region of southern Ontario. Sadly, we must wait until mid-May, before it's safe to plant our gardens, due to the possibility of having overnight frost, killing young plants.

No rain here yet... hope your acrostic has magical powers!

The rain has started here, Thotpurge, as yesterday (April 4th), was one of those days. Toronto have very little snowfall, during the winter, with unusually mild temperatures, as well.

I like that itch in the middle. As everything starts budding and smelling good, I get the itch too.

Thank you, Susan. My dad, would have the seed potatoes, all cut up and drying on racks, in the dining room, before planting, in another 2 weeks

Everywhere is different as in Australia we are happy to cool down in our Autumn now and be embarrassed to call our cold season winter as it is only that up the mountains!

I like your poem so much. The seasons occur so differently in all parts of the world. Hope you enjoy your three weeks of Spring.

Oh, lilacs! I so love them. My grandma always had lilacs and forsythia, and so did I, when I had a place of my own.

Oh, how I will miss my beloved lilacs this year, having grown up with them in childhood.

Your acrostic succeeds in painting a vivid, detailed picture in just a few lines.

Five lines encapsulating April's many faces in your part of the world. Acrostics are such fun!
