Empty Moccasins (April 11, 2016)

www.mayoral.com
Will not pretend
To understand
What drives you
To seek out death.

Beyond
The great sorrow
That holds
Your soul
Like a vise grip.
But
I understand
What it means
To walk down
This road
Of no return.
Having stood upon
Its gravel shoulder.
Once
Too often
Myself.
Of broken promises
And systemic neglect
From those
Who are response.

Utter despair
Fills the soul
Beyond the point
Of understanding
And caring
Anymore.

Just wanting
The pain
To end.

Permanently.

Maybe
I do understand
All too well
What has driven you
To reach this point.

But
For different reasons
You're experiencing
Right now.

May
The Earth Mother
Take you
In Her loving
And healing embracing.
